Where can you buy condoms this big?

This video was sent to me by my good friend Christeen. Christeen was a big inspiration to me in my decision to quit using drugs. She is also a pillar of support. Talk about a "quitting drugs" success story! Christeen's (and her husband Dave's) story is truly phenomenal. With some coaxing, maybe I can get her to post her testimony here. Hey Christeen, how many speed freaks does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer: One and 1/2 sixteenth.

My friend Walter

My friend Walter called yesterday and said he couldn't visit me because he wasn't feeling that well. He quit using speed a week and a half ago and said "It's not as easy as I thought it was going to be." He also said that he had quit for me but clarified that by saying "You were an inspiration for my decision to quit." I told him that I wanted both of us to be clear "that getting clean and freeing yourself from the power of that stuff is something you want to do for yourself. I've already accepted you and love you for who you are, clean or not." Last night I was surfing YouTube.com and stumbled upon a music video by Coldplay called "Fix You". Awesome! It made me think of Walter.

Where do I begin?

I stopped using speed in May 2007. About one month into my sobriety, I came up with the idea to start a website where I could post the thoughts, experiences, memories and dreams pertaining to my years of drug use and ongoing quest for sobriety that were flying through my head. During the last five months, I've spent countless hours composing this first post in my head thinking that what I was thinking was so profound and important that I would have no problem remembering it. So here I am on the last day of September 2007, having finally gotten off my butt and started this blog, asking myself "Where do I begin?" The answer is the same as it was in the beginning of May: "I begin NOW."
